Gas chromatography (GC) is a common type of chromatography used in analytical chemistry for separating and analyzing compounds that can be vaporized without decomposition. This analytical technique is used to separate the chemical components of a sample mixture which are then eluted to a detector for qualitative and/or quantitative analysis. These chemical components are usually organic molecules or gases.

Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) is an analytical technique that combines the features of gas-chromatography and mass spectrometry to identify different substances within a test sample.
